So here are 7 favourite movies and why I love them
The Lake House
Time. It’s a mystery. Though there are multiple ‘logic flaws’ in the narrative, I love it because of the dialogues, the letter reading, and when she uses his map to take a walk around Chicago. The romantic in me, loves this film.
When this came out, it literally blew my mind. I’m sure it did that for a lot of people. But since I am a Keanu Reeves fan and he was looking especially good here, had to go watch. The action sequences, the “think about it” dialogues, the possibilities of life were endless. I loved this film.
This film is nothing but entertaining. Sandra Bullock literally goes from horse in a stable to a horse at the parade. Horse, because she snorts like one in the film. She’s amazing, it light hearted, the acting by everyone is great.
Now this film. I know a lot of people think of animated films only for children, but even as adults you can learn so much from them. I love this film. I saw it first day first show at 10am in the morning. My favourite dialogue till date, and always gets me going “Just keep swimming… swimming…swimming”. Dory is my animal spirit guide.
Aliens. What’s not to love. Add to that a fantastic cast – Jeff Goldbloom. An speech that would give you goosebumps, and Will Smith ‘it ain’t over till the fat lady sings’. Old classic love.
Air Force One
I like the strong Presidents, and no one comes to mind better than George Harrison when he says “Get off my plane”. To hijack Air Force One seems impossible but this film keeps you on your toes, you don’t see the twist in the end and when it all works out, you’re happy. Feel good film.
The Mummy 1 & 2
There is nothing feel good in terms of action/ romantic comedy/ patriotism in this film. But I love it. Brendan Fraser at his best. Rachel Weisz is amazing and well how could we forget the idiotic brother played brilliantly by John Hannah. I love the dialogue “I hate mummies”
